Keybase: The App that Combines Public Key Cryptography and Social Media. Download Here
Keybase offers nightly builds for Ubuntu/Debian/etc., Fedora/RedHat/etc., and Arch if you want to try out the latest features, butnote that they will be less stable than our official releases. You can downloadKeybase nightlies here.
For mobile testing, I downloaded the Keybase Android app from the Google Play store and installed it on my Galaxy S9+. To log in, all you need to do is enter your username. However, once you do that, you need to authorize your phone. As the Keybase mobile app explains,
Keybase allows users to store up to 250 GB of files in a cloud storage called the Keybase Filesystem for free. There are no storage upgrades available, but paid plans allowing for more data are planned. The filesystem is divided into three parts: public files, private files, and team files. On Unix-like machines, the filesystem is mounted to /keybase, and on Microsoft Windows systems it is usually mounted to the K drive. Currently, mobile versions of the Keybase client can only download files from kbfs, and can not mount it. However, they do support operations such as rekeying files as necessary. In October 2017 Keybase brought out end-to-end encrypted Git repositories.
I want to encrypt my emails. Fortunately, my friend uploaded his public key to keybase.io.I installed Thunderbird and Enigmail and uploaded my own public key. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be as easy to load the public key from keybase.io into Thunderbird/Enigmail.
To get started, download and install the package for your system. This example assumes you have an Intel 64-bit processor, like most computers today. If you have a very old 32-bit system, use i386 instead of amd64 below. The package takes some time to download, depending on your internet connection speed.
I found out something quite interesting over the last weekend, keybase.io. Basically, it builds another layer of trust on our social media accounts + lets you easily encrypt, decrypt and share messages within a tried-and-tested encryption standard. It was operated by invitation only for quite some time but it is now being made available in public. They have their keybase app where you can download depending on your OS. I have tried Mac version, it works quite nicely and I think they made it pretty easy for me to communicate in the form of encrypting/decrypting stuff.
I would first go to their website and signup, here is my invitation for you to be able to join. Then you can identify yourself through their method of recognition of your social medias. They have a very nice step-by-step guide on how to make social media recognized as yours. For example, I proved my Github by posting a gist keybase.md in my GitHub. There was an easy guide on how to do this from keybase.io website. Another example like my blog, I had to create a keybase.txt. It is varied depending on what kind of social media to identify as you. Here is my keybase.io profile page. As you can see, I have already proven myself for a couple of social medias of mine.
A hash is a unique signature of a file's contents - Checking that the hash of the installer you downloaded matches the hash we publish, ensures that the file was not tampered with between our server and your computer.
Security and trust are some of Exodus' top concerns and key issues in the world of crypto-currencies. We want to make sure our users know they are downloading a legitimate and untampered copy of Exodus, so we digitally sign each installer package with our official developer signature.
Verifying the signature of the file proves that the installer was indeed published by us, while checking the hash of the file ensures it has not been tampered with between our servers and your computer. Although such an event is unlikely, as long as you download Exodus from our official download page, it's generally a good security practice to verify the hash of the files you download.

Mac OS X users benefit from a built-in app-signature-verifying system called Gatekeeper. Whenever you open a Mac OS X application, Gatekeeper automatically verifies the authenticity of an application's developer signature. Unless one has gone to the trouble of intentionally disabling the Mac OS X Gatekeeper in System Preferences, Mac users should not need to verify your downloads, as Apple's software already does it for you whenever you open the Exodus application.
Then, Linux users with GnuPG and Curl installed can verify the authenticity of a downloaded Exodus package with a simple two-line script. You must include the URL to the current version's published release hashes, which can be found at :
Keybase is an open source, free security app. In other words, you can chat and share files online with acquaintances online, and also publish documents with cryptography security. To get started, you need to download the app and register for the service. To start interacting with people you bumped into on the Internet, you would not need their email address or phone number. Social media usernames such as a Reddit or Twitter username would suffice to connect with the person.
Downloading binaries from the internet might be dangerous. When you download a release of BTCPayServer Vault on our GitHub releases page (opens new window), you only ensure that the uploader had access to our GitHub repository.
This might be fine, but sometimes you download the same binaries from a different source, or you want additional assurance that those binaries are signed by the developers of the project. (In this case, Nicolas Dorier)
Sometimes gpg has problems downloading keys from remote server, it might be better to work with gpg2 if it's available for your system. However it has been reported that gpg2 in version 2.1.17 is also affected by such issue. We recommend you to downgrade or upgrade it to a newer version.
Since version 1.0.47 (released in May 2018), Keybase has an in-app files interface. That is, you can browse and download files without a K Drive or /keybase.This also applies to the mobile app: so you can access and download files on your mobile devices now!
Freeware programs can be downloaded used free of charge and without any time limitations. Freeware products can be used free of charge for both personal and professional (commercial use).
This license is commonly used for video games and it allows users to download and play the game for free. Basically, a product is offered Free to Play (Freemium) and the user can decide if he wants to pay the money (Premium) for additional features, services, virtual or physical goods that expand the functionality of the game. In some cases, ads may be show to the users.
This software is no longer available for the download. This could be due to the program being discontinued, having a security issue or for other reasons.
While the above examples demonstrate the most straightforward way to use the new Uploader, we recommend taking advantage of our new integrity checking measures (see below) to ensure that you are downloading and using a valid, trusted form of the uploader.
The new Uploader can be integrity checked against a known GPG key signature, and can also have its contents checked via SHASUM. While performing these two checks is optional, it is highly recommended to do so. By checking the GPG signature and the SHASUM of the uploader, users can be much more confident in the overall integrity of the downloaded file.
While the snippets below can be used to download and use the uploader directly, it is highly recommended to perform signature and SHASUM verification to ensure integrity of the Uploader before use. See Integrity Checking the Uploader below for more information.
